God Loves Us - So Give Beer Gifts

Benjamin Franklin wrote that beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. For this reason, I like to give beer gifts to friends and family, especially my husband. The reason I love to give beer gifts to my husband is that he shares the beer gifts with his wife. Every time he gets a beer gift he says, “Exactly what we wanted!”

Actually, most of the beer gifts I buy for my husband are mostly glasses, shirts and signs. He loves the old bar room mirrors and they make wonderful presents for a collector. Since we are from the Pittsburgh area, I choose Iron City as the brand for the beer gifts that include items like mirrors and glasses.

I do like to indulge in unique beer gift that are made up of, well, beer. The beer of the month is a great present to get any beer enthusiast. I do get a little worried about buying beer gifts that requires membership to a club. Things change from month to month and I’m not sure if I want to make a commitment like a membership just to come up with unique beer gifts.

The beer of the month option for beer gifts does allow the buyer to opt out of the membership at any time with no questions asked. I may look into finding out if I can buy a one year membership for my husband’s birthday this year. I think that this will be one of the nicest presents I have ever gotten for him, but again, I have to consider the investment.

I can create my own beer gifts anytime that I want to. For some reason, baskets do not seem to fit these kinds of presents. Wine and cheese baskets are wonderful, but for beer gifts the baskets would contain warm beer and nacho cheese. It just doesn’t seem appealing. If I were to assemble baskets for beer gifts, I would include items like glasses, bottle openers and cozies. Of course, a t-shirt makes a great present that fits well into a basket.

I think that my husband’s idea of great beer gifts include ice cold beer and hot pizza. This is his traditional birthday dinner that we both enjoy. In fact, we had beer and pizza on our first date and we celebrate our anniversary with beer gifts that include ice cold beer and pizza and a hotel room. It’s the best combination.

Save Money And Time By Buying Online

Where do you shop these days? To me it seems that tons of people still tread out to the local shopping mall. On the rare occasion that I should go there, gargantuan crowds of people are always about. This surprises me when you can purchase items of any kind for so much less now. Don’t get me wrong, I see why loads of female shoppers still have to make sure things look right and fit right by trying them on in some dressing room. This still doesn’t explain all of the buying. Doesn’t anyone know about the Internet yet? If you try buying online, I seriously doubt you will regret it. In fact, you will save a ton. The great thing about the World-Wide-Web is that you can always find the lowest price.

Are you tired of malls and shopping centers? Are you fed up with dense crowds and circling around and around to locate a parking space? Then try buying online. I don’t really care what it is you are looking for, you will find it in cyberspace. You see, the problem with shopping malls is their limitation factor. Only so many things can fit in one and by no means do they have everything that everyone wants. Well, you may think there is no such place that does. I beg to differ. The Internet has everything. It doesn’t matter if you’re in search of a new car or a pizza from down the street. The best part is the simplicity and convenience. You can do it all from the comfort of your own home.

Around six years back, I finally started doing 90 percent of my buying online. It doesn’t matter if my wife wanted a fancy watch at Nordstrom’s, because I would hop online and find it for half the price. Buying online just makes sense. Who wants to spend 600 bucks on a necklace when they can get the same item online for $300? The world is now at our very fingertips. If you can’t find something in a mall, don’t worry about it. Have you checked the infinite online companies? Punch in a few keywords and start buying online for a fraction of the cost. This way you simply pick it up from your doorstep. If you’ve never attempted buying online because you thought it was complicated, think again. You probably have a computer in your home with Internet access. Pop open Google and do a quick search. It’s all available in cyberspace. Don’t continue to get ripped off by sales people in department stores. Start buying online today.

The Baby Doesn’t Know - Do You? Newborn Baby Gifts

Shopping for newborn baby gifts can be a nerve wracking experience. There are no creatures as indecisive and moody as new babies, except for their parents. So when getting new baby gifts, you really should play it safe. Don’t try to get subtle things for newborn baby gifts, but get something that the parents will definitely really appreciate. Unfortunately, it is hard to predict what newborn baby gifts will go over best because babies are so indecisive and their parents will like it if the kids find them entertaining. So you should try to find a new baby gift that you as a baby would have liked, or if you have had the chance to meet the baby, try to figure our what would fit that baby best.

Of course the best, or at least the most popular newborn baby gifts are the expensive and complicated bright plastic electronic ones, big and clunky with lots of loud noises and electric lights. You can pay anything from $20 to $200 for these newborn baby gifts, but there is a good chance that the baby will like them.  Even if the noises of the beeping and  squawking speakers sometimes drive the parents crazy. They are also great gifts to develop a baby’s skills and coordination. The babies can push different buttons to make different sounds or to hear different words, and sometimes can even fit different objects into different shaped holes to develop spatial reasoning.

Other great newborn baby gifts are stuffed animals. New baby gift stuffed animals are really great for infants and will last for a considerable amount of time, because the baby will come to treasure them. Stuffed animals can be depended on to soothe the baby and be an affectionate, if somewhat chewed on and drooled over companion. Clothing always makes a good newborn baby gift as well. New babies are notoriously messy creatures and creatures which one strives mightily to dress up in the most adorable of attire. Therefore, a new baby needs a considerable amount of clothing which is warm, comfortable and easy for the parents to put on and to take off. This is why if you buy clothing for newborn baby gifts the parents will inevitable meet it with their thanks and gratitude, giving you ample reason to feel proud of your gift.

Anyone Can Make An Edible Bouquet

You say you have to get a for someone who has everything, needs nothing, and has eclectic tastes?  You note you can’t spend a lot of money, but you want the gift to speak to the love and respect you have for the person?  Here’s a great gift idea for boys, girls, men and women - edible bouquets.  Granted, the idea is not new, but I got the idea some 30 years back from my grandmother, who every Halloween would buy a bag of Tootsie Pops® and a huge pumpkin.  She would push the pops into and all over the surface of the pumpkin, making a jack-o-lantern with candy “hair”.  And so edible bouquets are ideal for special people, such as the following most deserving ones.

Say the man you respect and want to honor has three businesses and has everything.  If he, like my friend years back, had just quit smoking and has become hooked on lollipops, after he became a non-smoker.  Little Dum Dums®, those lollipops that have a gentle but perky flavor.  Say that the recipient of the edible bouquets also loves freshly cut flowers.  Here’s what you do:

1.  Go to a department store and find a gorgeous glass vase for a few dollars.  I found one for $4.50.  It was hand blown and stood about a foot high.

2.  Buy a bag of the lollipops that your friend loves fruit flavored suckers, Tootsie Pops®, Dum Dums®, etc.  This will be under five bucks.

3.  At a discount/dollar store, get a cheap but beautiful bow or ribbons.  Total cost=under $2.00.

4.  Visit the florist and ask for an oasis, a green, malleable foam block,  used by florists to arrange flowers with.  You can also sometimes get in the floral section of the major grocery stores.  The blocks are about $1.00 each.  Get a couple in case you want to stuff the vase tightly.

5.  Back at home, fill one half of the vase with half of the lollipops.

6.  Then, cut the oasis to fit fairly tightly in the vase’s neck, making it look like a bed of green grass from afar.

7.  Next, insert the lollipops, one at a time, into the oasis, starting in the center and circling outward with varying colors/flavors or all one color if you know your friend’s favorite.

8.  When the edible bouquets are finished, in under ten minutes!  Wrap the ribbon around the mouth of the vase, adding a big bow, if you bought one and present your unique and edible bouquets to their recipients!

The Best Chocolate In The Whole Wide World - Hershey

Living only 30 minutes away from Hershey, Pennsylvania, I’ve grown up around the famous Hershey chocolate. I’ve eaten so much of it, it is probably flowing through my veins - not that I mind in the least. As the years have moved forward and continue to move, different varieties of Hershey chocolate have been created. Some of the creations have been very delicious and others faded out in time. The traditional Hershey chocolate bars though, have forever remained constant. You cannot go wrong when taking a bite of one of those chocolate bars. They never last long around my house.

Of course, those who are familiar with Hershey, know about Hershey Park. There are tons of rides and shows, making it a large and adventurous amusement park. The best part of the amusement park, is that it is attached to Hershey Chocolate World. There is a ride and tour inside of it, that visitors can learn about the history of Hershey and how it became so large and famous. The ride is free and quite entertaining while also being educational. Here comes the best part - when you exit the ride and are heading back down the ramps to leave, an attendant is waiting to give you a sample of some sort of chocolate. It could be a chocolate bar, Hershey kisses or something just as delicious.

When you leave Hershey Chocolate World, you have to exit through the gift shop. In this huge gift shop is every sort of chocolate you can imagine. Amazingly, the prices really are not bad and you can get some wonderful gifts for people. Take it from a chocolate lover, giving Hershey chocolate as a gift is such a treat. As a child, my parents would put chocolate bars in my stocking at Christmas, making Christmas morning even more delightful. In person or on various websites, there are lots of gifts available for sending to others. Even for people such as myself, who live so close to Hershey, chocolate is always a welcome gift.

Many recipes will mention using Hershey chocolate when cooking a specific dessert. Perhaps it calls for Hershey chocolate syrup or maybe candy bars, no matter what - you can’t go wrong. Hershey has that unique and perfect taste that can perfect any recipe. Some brownie mixes have Hershey’s syrup in the box for you to use, which I think is just so convenient and helpful. It shows how famous and reliable Hershey chocolate has become that large companies are pairing their products with Hershey. Like I said, you just can’t go wrong.

Something Different? Chocolate Covered Potato Chips

I like to think of us Americans as the junk food superpower. When it comes to desserts and sweets galore, we take the cake. No pun intended. You may not realize this until you venture off to other countries. But, let me reassure you, no foreign land can touch our vast array of goodies. You name it - from cakes, to pies, to cookies, to chocolate bars, to candy toys, to ice cream, to shakes, to smoothies, to custards, to dessert beverages, to chocolate covered potato chips, we virtually have it all. You probably can’t imagine a funky or bizarre treat we don’t have. There are even chocolate covered popcorn and gummy bears in this great nation. So if you’re looking for sweets, we’ve got you covered here in the states.

One random summer day back in 1999, I was strolling through a local shopping center with my family. We spotted a candy stand called Gypsy’s Candy. Naturally we had to gaze in awe upon the sweet treats. Most of the selection was standard variety stuff. You had your gummy worms, popcorn, turtles, chocolate peanuts and raisins, etc. Then I saw them, chocolate covered potato chips. What in the world was this? I had never heard of such a concoction, and furthermore, would they be any good? Hmm, stupid question. Like every other browsing family, we had to purchase a pound of them for testing. Of course, chocolate covered potato chips were awesome.

Here’s the deal. You can actually make your own chocolate covered potato chips at home.  Not really, since they can be purchased all over the place these days, including on the web.  I will say that chocolate covered potato chips, along with many other sweets are much cheaper to make on your own. Once you have the equipment, you can whip up as many delectables as you please.

For chocolate potato chips, this is how I do it. You first slice potatoes into chip sized pieces. You can do this with a simple tool found in a kitchen store or a knife if you prefer. Then comes the Fry-Daddy. Deep-fry the potato slices and let them cool on a paper towel. The towel will soak up excess grease. Finally comes the fondue kit. Melt your choice of chocolate in the fondue pan, dip the chips and lastly let them cool on wax paper. Try one of these homemade chocolate covered potato chips and you’ll be in heaven.

Sail Into Any Port With An Anchor Pendant

You don’t have to be a sailor to wear an anchor pendant around your neck. In fact, you may not even be fond of the open sea.  An anchor pendant is an attractive fashion accessory that comes in many different styles and sizes. They are available in the traditional gold and silver as well as many other materials.  Many people consider the idea of an anchor pendant as a gift for someone who enjoys taking a cruise or has their own sailboat. This is a great idea as it incorporates their love of sailing or boating into their wardrobe.
A fun idea for the man who wants to surprise his wife with the gift of a cruise, is to present her with an anchor pendant and a note that suggests that it’s only a clue of the true gift. Women enjoy wearing an anchor pendant anywhere and it certainly doesn’t have to be worn only when sailing.  The style of anchor pendant you choose is really largely dependent on personal taste. There are hundreds of different styles available in every price range.

One very popular choice is an anchor pendant in silver. Silver is more affordable than gold and is actually becoming a staple in fashion today. Many women like the idea of having silver jewelry as opposed to all gold pieces. It affords them the chance to change an outfit simply by changing the accessories.  If you are still partial to gold you won’t have any difficulty in finding an anchor pendant. An addition to many pendants, regardless of their shape, is diamonds. When placed on a pendant diamonds add a whole new dimension to the piece. In fact, a diamond studded pendant can be worn to even the most luxurious parties and locales.

Shopping for an anchor pendant can be as simple as opening your web browser. With so many online jewelers, it’s easy to find the things you want. One of the advantages to buying jewelry online is that the cost is often significantly lower than it is in a traditional jewelry store.  This is usually because an online jeweler doesn’t have to worry about overhead that includes rent and showcases. Instead they can focus on delivering quality jewelry to their customers.

Once you find the anchor pendant that you want it’s necessary to find a chain that goes with it. If you are a smaller person, consider a dainty chain that accentuates the delicate curves of your neck. This obviously wouldn’t suit a man who wants to wear an anchor pendant around his neck. The best choice for him will probably be a braided chain.  Whether you are buying an anchor pendant for yourself or someone special you’ll have no trouble finding the right one. Browse a bit and before long you or the person you give it to, will be showing off the new piece of jewelry.

Keep Your Loved One In Heaven And Name A Star After Them

For a long time, when people wanted to get an unusual and very cool gift for someone, they went online and bought the opportunity to name a star. This is a great gift, but you have to remember one thing. You can name a star and you can pay for it, but you should know that it is a novelty gift only. This is much like paying to ‘own’ land on the moon. You really don’t own it and you really don’t have the rights to name the star, but it sure sounds like fun.

When you name a star, you are usually charged a fee for the opportunity. There are many places out there that do this for you, and you usually get documentation. What they can’t promise is that they aren’t selling the rights to name the same star to someone else, and that they can even offer you this service. You should look into where the money is going that you pay when you name a star. Is it going for a good cause, or is it perhaps just going into someone’s pocket?

That doesn’t mean you can’t name a star, and it is a neat gift to get from someone. As long as you know it’s not really a real thing and as long as you realize you aren’t really paying to have a star officially named after someone. I’m sure there is a directory somewhere with the official names of stars, but your name won’t be included. When you name a star, you are given the information about that star, if there is any, and also the exact position in the sky to view it through a telescope on a clear night. You may be given certificates to give to the namesake and these can be framed and hung on the wall.

Perhaps one of the best things you can do for someone who has suffered a recent loss is to name a star in their honor and present the paperwork to the family. You should probably explain that it’s not official, but it is something they can view each night in the sky to remember and honor their loved one. You may also want to name a star when you lose a beloved pet to keep their memory alive. This may help you with some of your grief, and that might be worth the asking price alone.

The Gifts That Children Have To Have For Christmas

A lot of people have a hard time getting gifts for children.  What to kids want these days and how am I supposed to find out?  Knowing how openly finicky and hard to please some kids can be, having to buy gifts for children can seem a stressful task.  Buying gifts for children is really a piece of cake if you know the kids at all.  Most kids are more than happy to vocalize exactly what kind of gifts they’d like, so it isn’t hard to get some ideas directly from the source.  A brief examination of the kinds of toys and games they play with can also yield a lot of ideas.  For example, do they have a video game system?  If so, what kind of games do they seem to like?  Do they play any sports?  Do they like dolls or action figures?

If you don’t know the kids, buying gifts for children is a bit harder.  There are so many different kinds of toys out there, its hard to say what their into.  Of course, if you’re buying gifts for children chances are you at least know their parents.  Ask them!  Next to the kids themselves, parents are an invaluable source of information on gifts for children.  They’ll know exactly what kinds of toys and games their kids are into, or at least they should.

Finding good gifts for children can be kind of fun.  I’m starting to get sort of excited about it around Christmas time.  While I don’t have any kids of my own, my brother’s two boys are two and five years old, which are fun ages to shop for.  I almost feel like a kid again myself perusing through different toy aisles and trying out different products to see how they work.

Personally, since I’m shopping for boys most of the time, I find that toys that make noise and have lots of flashing lights seem to go over well with my nephews.  The looks on their parents’ faces as they tear open a gift revealing some Japanese made talking, flashing remote control robot of destruction that also plays music at nearly deafening levels is almost as priceless as the excitement the kids show.  When I have kids of my own I’m sure my brother and sister-in-law are going to repay the favor tenfold, but I’m enjoying it while I can.
