Good Clean Money With Handmade Soaps

If you are looking for a great craft to do at home, you might want to make handmade soaps. I don’t know what it is about soaps and candles that people make in their home but I love them. If I see someone selling them, I almost always have to stop and get some to take home. There seems to be more love put into them and they are often just as good as the stuff I would buy in the store. Not only are soaps a great hobby, they can be sold to the public if you need a little extra cash.

Handmade soaps have been around for a long time. Even when soap was starting to be manufactured in large quantities, many people stuck to making their own. You can’t always get what you want in a bar of soap that you buy in the store, but if you make your own handmade soaps, you can make it any way you wish. You may not save a lot of money this way, but you will get a lot more out of it. Soap making can be relaxing and that alone might be worth the cost of the supplies you will need to buy.

You may have to experiment when you first start making handmade soaps. You can find great recipes for them online, but you should experiment until you find your very own unique recipe that is like no other. When you give them for gifts or sell them at craft fairs, you will be surprised at how much the people will like your soaps.  Some buy handmade soaps to use while other buy them just for the way they look. Make sure your soaps are functional and pretty, and you will get both kinds of sale.

If you get really good at making handmade soaps and find that they sell well locally, you might want to try to sell them online. You might start with eBay and then perhaps set up your own website. Make sure you have a writer write a few good articles about handmade soaps so that the search engines can find your site. Once people start coming you may find that you can’t make enough. Not only do people like to have them for themselves, they also like to give them for gifts. You should do well around the holidays if people can find you online.

Take A Trip Into The Great Outdoors With A Cedar Strip Canoe

Since I was little, it was my dream to build a cedar strip canoe. I know that there are more efficient designs than cedar strip canoes – they are heavier and less durable than kevlar and even aluminum has advantages over a cedar strip canoe.  But still the beauty of the lines, the richness of the wood make the whole thing so incredibly appealing in a way that a boat made of more modern materials simply can’t be.

My dad purchased cedar strip canoe plans to build one with me when I was a child. In his younger days, he had been quite the avid outdoorsman, traveling up and down the rivers of the great north woods in his own cedar strip canoe, back when that was the standard of canoe construction, and he always intended to introduce me to the joys of the outdoors in a new cedar strip canoe that we would build ourselves. Unfortunately he worked like the devil day and night. He was a workaholic and spent upwards of 80 hours a week as a doctor, treating other peoples health problems while he ignored his own. We never even got to go on a camping trip of more than a couple of days when I was young, because he worked so much. When he died, I was not only sad to see him go but sad to see that he had never gotten to achieve his dream of rowing once more in his own cedar strip canoe.

When I was 27, I met the woman of my dreams and fell completely in love. We were in no hurry to marry or to settle down and have children, but we loved spending as much time together as possible. She was, like me, really in to camping and other kinds of outdoor fun and we decided that it would be fun to build a cedar strip canoe together. I came home one day with cedar strip canoe plans and we got to work.

The whole thing took much longer than you’d think. It’s hard work to build cedar strip canoes, and the first time you undertake a new project, it is almost impossible to not make some serious mistakes that you have to completely do over again. Nonetheless, soon we had our own finished cedar strip canoe and were able to begin taking trips into the great outdoors together.

It Has It All - The New York City Calendar Of Events

Probably the most famous city in our entire nation is a little place that lies in the southern part of New York. Folks form around the globe flock to this particular hot spot for all sorts of reasons. Whether it be for business aspirations, carriage rides through Central Park, to open a pizza shop, to visit the Statue of Liberty or just see the sites, the Big Apple is booming with business. One way to be certain you’re going to see what you traveled there for is by keeping up with the New York City calendar of events. This is a handy reference guide that can be found on the Internet. Use it before you plan your big trip to NYC. If you don’t, you just might miss what you came for.

Do you have any clue when the Westminster Dog show takes place and where exactly? Well, if you planned on going this year, you might as well forget about it now. It just took place on the 12th and 13th of February. Where? Madison Square Garden is the place. If you plan to try next year instead, be sure to refer to the New York City calendar of events to be certain on dates. I can imagine tons of people flock to the Big Apple in order to watch the ball drop on New Year’s Eve. Any fool who watches television can tell you that. The New York City streets look flooded with people. Obviously you won’t be needing the New York City calendar of events to make this grand occasion. But what about parades and Broadway shows and cruises? You’ll definitely want to keep on top of these so that you can enjoy the ones of your choice.

Each month in the Big Apple brings new and exciting events. Another crucial reason you should pay close attention to the New York City calendar of events is due to these special occasions. For example, lodging costs change dramatically all the time. The time of the year when the most people pour into a city is when the hotel prices will be at a peak. Check with the New York City calendar of events before arranging your stay in the Big Apple and it will probably save you some major cash. Clearly a time when a massive sporting event or celebration is going down, you might want to avoid NYC. You can bet that the trip will cost you a bundle if you don’t. It’s all about supply and demand.

Winnie The Pooh Baby Shower Invitations - The Right Choice

Choosing a theme for a baby shower can be tough. There are so many adorable ideas that it really can be difficult to choose just one. Once you choose a theme you pretty much think that you have the whole thing under control but you might be surprised. I discovered that choosing the theme in general isn’t the only decision that needs to be made when I was shopping for Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations.

The Pooh Bear theme was one that didn’t come easy in the first place but after some consideration I really felt that it was a good choice. Once I chose the theme I started shopping for Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations as soon as possible. It was during my time looking at the many options that I became a little confused.

The problem was that I had too many Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations to sift through. I never thought about the different themes within the theme that I would have to consider. There are classic Pooh designs that appeal to a traditional theme. The Pooh designs from my childhood really stood out but the baby Pooh designs seemed perfect for the occasion.

I was pretty sure that I wouldn’t use the baby Pooh designs. These characters are really cute and they do fit the overall event but these Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitation weren’t my style. They are adorable but I really wanted something that was a little more personal. This left me with two other options to consider.

The classic Pooh designs are really attractive. This design offers muted colors and a softer feel. I really loved this look and these Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations were very appealing to me. I could imagine the entire party decorated around this theme and that made the decision very tough.

The difficulty was that I really loved Pooh Bear when I was a child and I know that my parents associate me with this theme. The Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations resembled the toys that I had growing up and the colors were bright and cheerful.

When push came to shove, I had to opt for the Winnie the Pooh baby shower invitations that resembled the Pooh I loved as a child. The choice wasn’t very easy because I really loved classic design but I think that I made the right choice.

Many Cosmetic Ingredients Will Harm You

I have been working as a buyer for a major cosmetics company for the last several years and I have seen firsthand the shake up over cosmetics ingredients that is going on in the industry. Back in the day, the only standard of a cosmetic ingredient was how well it did the job. Cosmetic ingredients would be made out of practically anything and no one cared. Some people say that people in the industry knew about some of the cosmetics makeup health risks, but I think most of them were actually ignorant. Don’t get me wrong – sometimes it pays to look the other way and ignore what might be an creeping suspicion. Nonetheless, no one thought about organic cosmetics ingredients because the synthetic ones seemed to work so well. How could it be dangerous when it made you look so much younger and feel so much better?

Nowadays, we are finding out just how harmful some cosmetics ingredients can be. Every day, new research comes out showing what skincare products can do to the body. Makeup cosmetics have never been put to the same standards as foodstuffs, and the industry does not have to prove that their cosmetics ingredients are safe before using them. Nonetheless, the skin is porous. What you put on your skin gets into your bloodstream one way or another. It is as simple as that.

Most of the make up ingredient supplier companies a decade ago were completely insensitive to this fact. Those that could sell the cheapest, best skin care ingredients to the makeup companies would do the best business. Nowadays, however, it is a whole different story. Natural oils, cosmetics ingredients that haven’t been tested on animals and organic makeup are all the rage. It used to be enough to look healthy. Nowadays, the emphasis is on being healthy as well.

If you’re worried about harmful cosmetic ingredients, you are not alone. Unfortunately, sometimes there is no way to tell whether or not a cosmetic ingredient is safe. Sometimes, the only thing you can do is to err on the side of caution. Generally, things made with entirely natural oils and fragrances are safe. Cosmetics ingredients that involve petroleum products, non-organic products, or anything where you can’t pronounce the name, may be unhealthy. Although it is more expensive to buy from a small, private label cosmetics company, it may be worth it. Who knows what we will discover about the ingredients that we have assumed are safe!

You Have To Do Some - Compare Gas Prices

If you have a vehicle that is powered by gasoline, then you have undoubtedly noticed the outrageously high gas prices, as have most Americans and consumers around the world, which has led you to compare gas prices. Because most of are trying to save a few pennies where ever we can, we find ourselves comparing gas prices at local gas stations in our area. It’s pretty sad when you have an economy car and it costs over $35 to fill the tank. You hardly drive and it still doesn’t last you more than two weeks at best. Now think of this scenario using an SUV as an example and you’re looking at $50-60 to fill the tank on a weekly to bi-weekly basis. Long gone are the days when gasoline was less than $1 a gallon and you didn’t necessarily have to compare gas prices.  It really wasn’t that long ago, just a few years, less than a decade, 1999 to be exact. I’m sure most of you can relate to what I’m trying to say here.

Most of us compare gas prices, more now than ever. We depend on our vehicles to get us to the places we need to go and we don’t yet live in a society where everyone is driving hybrids or electric cars. When we compare gas prices every time we pull up to the pump, even if we are only saving a few pennies, we feel better about our purchase, don’t we? And after a period of time, the savings can really add up. We’re still upset of course that we’re paying an average of $3 a gallon because the amount we’re saving really doesn’t go into our pocket at all, it just goes toward the outrageous over inflation of fuel costs.

So what can you do? The bottom line seems to be that domestic gas consumers need to compare gas prices, which they can easily do by going online and comparing gas prices at  a number of websites devoted to helping consumers save money at the pumps. Check out any one of these informative sites, like www.fueleconomy.gov/fed/gasprices/states/index.html, www.autos.msn.com, www.gasbuddy.com, www.gaspricealert.com, www.Fuel–Prices.com, and a number of others where you can view gasoline price information for all states and selected US cities, to find the lowest price gasoline in your town. If you are shopping for a fuel efficient vehicle visit www.edmunds.com/fueleconomy, and see how much money more you can save yourself.

Prepare Your Skin For A Close Shave

Even though shaving is a task that is boring, time-consuming and sometimes frustrating, millions of people are faced with getting rid of unwanted hair and everyone seems to be in search of how to get a close shave. Getting a close shave is not as easy as one might think. It is not as simple as splashing some water on your skin, lathering up the shave gel and taking out the razor. The skin must be prepared, the proper shaving gel, cream or lotion must be used and adequate after care must be taken.  Shaving can be traced back to the early Egyptians, who were known for bathing several times a day and removing unwanted body hair using a clamshell. My guess is that they probably weren’t able to get a close shave with such a primitive tool!

For both men and women, it is important to prepare the skin before attempting to remove the hair. After you have chosen a proper shaving gel, this will be one that lathers well and remains on the skins surface.  You should massage the gel into the skin instead of just spreading it on quickly. Remember that hair does not all grow in the same direction, so making a few passes over the skin with the razor held in different directions will provide a close shave.  Professional barbers agree that the number of blades on a razor does not guarantee a better job will be done. If the skin has been prepared correctly, there is no need for a double or triple blade razor, a single blade razor will allow for a close shave.

Once the skin has been shaved, it should be rinsed with cool water. It should never be rubbed, but instead patted dry with a clean towel. Many people in pursuit of a close shave are not aware that the act of shaving not only removes unwanted hair, but can also remove two layers of skin! For this reason, it is wise to apply a balm-like after-shave product, instead of one that is alcohol or perfume based, which are likely to irritate the skin.  If you are unfortunate enough to suffer from razor burn or bumps, using a cream that contains 5% benzoyl peroxide should soothe the irritation.

By experimenting with different shaving gels and creams, some people even prefer to use shaving oils, you will be able to determine which one works best with your skin type. Remember to always use a sharp blade, as a dull one will just drag along the skin and cause irritation, and never shave right after waking in the morning. The first thing in the morning your skin tends to be puffy and a close shave will be near impossible. Waiting approximately 30 minutes after rising from bed will allow the skin to return to its natural, non-puffy state. With a little practice and patience, you to can enjoy a close shave.

All The Lobster You Can Eat - All Inclusive Beaches Resorts

I have the pleasure of saying that I’ve gotten to travel quite a bit in my years. Not every place that I went was spectacular, but some places were absolutely unforgettable. I have often times found that hotels, resorts, inns and miscellaneous other things are simply not like the photos that you are shown or as nice as what you are led to believe. Therefore, I always expect the worst but hope for the best. I love it when I’m pleasantly surprised.

Trust me when I say, that I have found places in the world that are definitely forgettable - mainly accommodations. My favorite places to travel to are all-inclusive resorts. Who wants to be stuck carrying money with them constantly and having to worry about how much you’re paying, what the exchange rate it and if you can affordable to do something that day. With all-inclusive resorts, that isn’t a worry in the least. I have a favorite all-inclusive resort that I always recommend to everyone. If you have the chance to vacation at Beaches Resorts, you would be crazy to pass the chance by. They are absolutely wonderful. I have not yet found any Beaches Resorts that have been disappointing or a waste of my time and money. Since the Beaches Resorts are all-inclusive, you can get away with not carrying money around and having to worry about what foods you can and can’t afford. At the Beaches Resorts, you can afford it all, because it is all included. I can have lobster, all the dessert and snacks I could ever hope for. The Beaches Resorts all have wonderful rooms for their guests and lots of activities and entertainment to keep you busy. Of course, if all you want to do is relax, that is definitely an option. In fact, relaxation and fun is what they are all about.

The first time that I ever booked a Beaches Resort vacation, I was pretty reluctant. I had a particular budget in my head and they wanted me to spend more than that. My travel agent explained to me that without an all-inclusive package, I’d be spending a small fortune in meals, drinks and tips. I had not thought about that. I went home to compare prices and packages. She was right. With adding up my airfare and accommodations, I was spending more than I would be to stay at any of the Beaches Resorts. I quickly booked the vacation and never regretted it for one second. I’m still vacationing there, and not regretting it.

Just Too Darn Cute - Baby Photos

Baby photos are a nice way to keep track of all the momentous steps they make in growth and development along the way. The first ultrasound makes a great baby photo that excited expectant parents can show off to friends and family even before the baby is born. These ultrasound photos are a unique addition to the baby book as baby’s first photo. Expectant parents can also visit the internet to see baby photos of the fetus in different stages of development, so that they know what is happening during each stage of the pregnancy. This couldn’t be any more exciting for an expectant mother and father. A very special glimpse at how babies kick and move about in the warm amniotic fluid filled sack. It’s hard to believe until you actually see it for yourself.

The more traditional baby photos that most of us think of are the first pictures from the hospital, with the baby wrapped like a burrito in a blanket with a cute hand knit hat on. Some babies are even dressed in cute little outfits that are usually two sizes too big and they are either cooing for the camera or are not cooperative at all. These first baby photos are the most precious and can be included on the birth announcements so that everyone will get a copy to keep. This is just the beginning of the large collection of baby photos that will soon be accumulating -  every movement, sleeping poses and smile or coo is a reason to take a picture. Baby photos taken by professional photographers are also a nice way to celebrate the birth of a new baby. Parents can pose together or individually with the baby in either color or black and white for a stunning portrait. You can also submit pictures to baby photo contests and maybe your baby will be chosen the winner!

If you don’t have a new baby of your own and need to collect baby photos for a special project or just because you want to check them out, visit a number of online sites that have nothing but creative, cute, and adorable baby photos. Some of the most popular baby photos are the ones taken by Anne Geddes, which can be seen in a number of formats, such as calendars, wall portraits, cups, greeting cards and on other items too. Those cute pictures with the babies dressed as flowers or bumble bees, posed so perfectly in watering cans, copper tubs, and claw foot bathtubs really make a nice gift item or you can buy one for yourself just because they’re so darn cute! Baby photos reflect the innocence that was in all of us at one time, when we didn’t have a care in the world!

Is Someone Lurking In The Shadows? Get An Audiovox Car Alarm

What was that? You heard footsteps close by, but you’re not sure where they came from. Glance about in the darkness, survey the area and pick up the pace. You need to reach your vehicle before someone reaches you. Now the footsteps are heavier.  Your heart is racing as you fumble with your keys. Don’t drop them, whatever you do! This will slow you down. Suddenly you spot a shadow drawing near. You attempt to press the UNLOCK button on your keypad, but you hit the Audiovox alarm button instead. Now your car’s hazard lights are flashing as the alarm echoes through the parking lot. A few people passing by have paused and are staring, just as people always do. The footsteps have ceased. You leap in your car and lock the doors. Nicely done. This is a great way to deter a potential assailant. With others watching and all the noise, he’s unlikely to pursue you and risk being identified.

The car alarm is on heck of an invention. I highly recommend that everyone invest in one. Whether it’s an Alpine or Audiovox alarm is totally up to you. Many brand names offer great features now days. One of those features is the obvious siren. As we all know, car alarms can make a great deal of racket. This is an awesome advantage in certain situations because it draws attention to your vehicle and anyone around it.

Then there is the handy keyless start feature. This is one that’s all the rage now days. You can have your vehicle running and ready to go before you actually get to the door and enter. Of course it’s on lock-down while it’s running. This makes your getaway much quicker. It’s ideal for folks who’re in a hurry or concerned about their surroundings. Just hop in and take off. Furthermore, a feature that most contemporary vehicles offer, whether they’re equipped with an Audiovox alarm system or not is the single door unlock. It’s beneficial to have the ability to only unlock the driver’s door. Imagine if a rapist or killer were waiting patiently on the opposite side for the doors to unlock, hence allowing him access. He can’t get in if you only unlock the one.

Like home security systems, an Audiovox alarm for your vehicle is a wise choice. Not only can it help keep you safe, but it can also keep your ride from getting stolen. See what Audiovox alarm system is right for your vehicle today.
