The Most Memorable Priceless Gift - Photo Slideshow DVD

A wonderful gift for any parent is a photo slideshow DVD. These gifts can be professionally created or you can buy the necessary software to make your own at home. The photo slideshow DVD are usually comprised of digital photos but they can be made up of any image that you can scan into your computer as well.I first found out about the photo slideshow DVD from a friend who was organizing his parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. He spent weeks and weeks collecting old photographs and images of his parents and all of their relatives for the presentation. Once the images were collected, he put them in a specific order for the professional photo slideshow DVD developers to use. Next, he chose the perfect songs for the exhibit. The experts went to work creating the perfect gift for the happy couple.

The family rented a big screen television for the 50th wedding anniversary party. The couple was shocked when their sons carted the huge television into the room. They were more surprised and moved by the photo slideshow DVD. The music was perfect and the photographs brought wonderful memories that played just like a real movie. My friend said that there was only one problem. His parents thought that the huge television was part of their gift. They were slightly disappointed as they watched their sons remove the entertainment device from the room after the production. Nevertheless, the photo slideshow DVD was far more valuable to them than the television.

After hearing about the photo slideshow DVD, I decided to create one for my husband’s first Father’s Day. I took one picture of him with our daughter each week from the very first day that we brought her home. The series of pictures spanned 50 weeks which was the perfect number of images for one song. I chose the song “Aubrey” as the background music for the presentation. We named our daughter after that song. My husband was speechless and very tearful as he watched his priceless photo slideshow DVD. He absolutely loved the present. He watched it over and over before finally retiring it to its case among the other movies.

There is only one problem. There is no way on earth that I am ever going to be able to top that gift. The photo slideshow DVD was the best present he ever received, aside from our daughter.

Show Your Employees You Appreciate Them With A Office Coffee Service

Nothing gets a worse rap than coffee made in the office. No one I know jumps out of bed on Monday morning eager to run off to get a fresh cup of sludge at work. We all know the taste of stale, thick, black, even with extra cream. An office coffee service can change all of that.

The first great benefit of having an office coffee service is for the employees. There are few things more motivating than a really good cup of brew. I’m not suggesting that you will find more productive employees who will never gripe but you will have a happier bunch if they appreciate good coffee.

Employees like the idea of getting their favorite hot beverage whenever they want. They really like the idea of having it at no cost to them. The office coffee service is an investment for the employer but it is a great money-saver for employees. Happy employees are productive employees.

This is not just hearsay. The National Automatic Merchandising Association conducted a study that revealed that almost 80 percent of employees who had access to free hot beverages from an office coffee service felt appreciated by their bosses. They also showed to be more productive as well.

The office coffee service also makes employees feel special in that the beverages are created to their specific tastes. This is a great benefit that workers really appreciate. They also won’t feel the urge to get their favorite drink at a coffee shop, which can take time away from work, if they can have whatever they like at work.

Many companies spend a lot of money on expensive coffee appliances. Some systems cost a great deal but they don’t provide personalized products as the office coffee service does. The appliances are also not always the best items on the market for making the ideal cup of java.

One office coffee service provides your company with all of the equipment that the company needs while another may charge a monthly rental fee. The primary investment that the corporation makes is in the product that will be consumed. If the company cancels the office coffee service, the equipment is returned.

There are few of us who look forward to the coffee produced at work. However, there are many employees who enjoy the benefits of an office coffee service. They just can’t wait for Monday morning.

Poopy Diapers? Get A Changing Station

Having kids can be challenging and wonderful at the same time. For those who leave theirs with a nanny most of the time, you certainly miss out on a ton. I don’t know if these are things you wish to miss out on but I will tell you one thing from personal experience, changing all the diapers, bathing them, burping them and helping them get to sleep is an utter blast. If you don’t like it, you either weren’t meant to be a parent or you’re doing it wrong. With all the cool and innovative devices we have at our fingertips these processes and routines are a breeze. You can even install a diaper changing station in your infant’s room if you please. This way you’ll always have an ideal spot for changing.

As parents we all have to resort to public restrooms at times. And I’m not just referring to going potty. This is when a decent diaper changing station comes in handy. I have to admit this is why I prefer the finer department stores over the cheaper ones. The upper-scale ones like Nordstrom’s and such have cool family restrooms. In these restrooms you can always expect to find a diaper changing station. This makes it so much easier to get the job done and stay out of everyone’s way. I have used these public restrooms a number of times in the past when my daughter was tiny. If you’re a new parent, I highly suggest you take advantage of them. I spotted a father one time changing his baby’s diaper on the toilet lid. That can’t be sanitary but I do understand that sometimes we all have to make due.

Equip your home for the new one. Granted, you don’t have to run out and purchase a diaper changing station that flips down from the wall. However, I do recommend that you get most things in order before the baby arrives. This will certainly make things simpler on you and those who are helping care for the baby. I must be completely frank, my idea of a diaper changing station in my home was a soft blanket on the floor. This may be a concept that goes back quite a ways but it will always be sufficient.

Got Pennies From Heaven - Use A Coin Sorter

We all have change but we all have different ideas about how to manage it. I know that my husband comes home every day from work and dumps a pile of change on the counter. If I don’t pick it up very quickly, my daughter will. It seems that he is one of those people that doesn’t use a lot of change while shopping, so the change in his pocket builds up every day. There is usually no less than five or six dollars in that pile of change. I often have to use a coin sorter to keep things in line and get the money into the bank.

If you take a bucket or bag of coins to the bank, they probably will not accept it. Most banks will not accept any type of change unless it has been put through a coin sorter and put into change rolls. They simply do not have the time to count all of your change for you. If you look in your local store you can find many different types of coin sorter from which to choose. They range in price from a few dollars and up. Some of them do everything for you, while some of them just take out the hardest parts. Whatever the case may be, any type of coin sorter will make your job easier.

Just be careful that you don’t buy a coin sorter that is too cheap. I made the mistake of doing this. It worked good for a while but I soon found that it could not differentiate between dimes and pennies. Many times the dimes would get caught in the system and I would have to take it apart with a screwdriver to get it working again. Not only that, the coin sorter did not work correctly unless I propped it in the front a little bit. The coins would not roll freely unless it was slightly off kilter. That was not exactly convenient.

If you really hate dealing with your coins, you can get an automated coin sorter for your home. You may also go out into your community and look for a Coinstar machine. This type of coin sorter is very simple and very easy to use. All you have to do is dump your coins into the machine and it counts them. You then get a receipt that was printed out so that you may cash it in for your money at the register. Though this is extremely convenient, it will also cost you money. In many cases, this type of machine will charge you seven or eight cents per dollar that it counts for you. However, if you hate dealing with your change this might be the perfect solution for you.

Movies Delivered To You With Blockbuster DVDs

We need entertainment on a regular basis. Hence the prime time television series’ that play each and every night of the week. It’s basically like we can’t get our fill of this stuff. Then again, who can blame us? Once we’re home from work, have eaten dinner, and cleaned up for the night we want to lounge about and let others do the work. And this is exactly what we do. Whether it’s with our favorite TV shows or Blockbuster DVDs, we let ourselves be entertained. And I doubt this routine will be changing any time soon.

It can be difficult deciding on where to get your entertainment. Some of us like to stick with television, some like to buy whatever movies we want to watch, some like to see everything in the theater, and then the majority of us rent DVDs. This is probably the most cost efficient way to view all the latest films. My older brother buys everything but I don’t personally care for that idea, because sometimes flicks aren’t worth purchasing. Besides you end up with far too many movies to store. Anyway, let’s talk about the norm. The truth is that most families and individuals rent DVDs now days.

What I want to know is whether you rent Blockbuster DVDs from the local chain or use the Internet rental services? I do have a remark to offer on this subject. I have now had experience with Blockbuster DVDs online and Netflix DVD service online. In all honesty, their prices can be pretty competitive. However, I found that Blockbuster DVDs did not offer the great variety Netflix does. This is why I currently have the Netflix DVD service. It’s just under 20 bucks a month and it’s easy to use. I arrange the films on my personal account in the order I want to receive them and they let me keep three at a time. It’s as simple as can be because they arrive in my mailbox, typically the day after they’re sent. Then when I ship them back in the self-paid envelope they provide, I receive an email the following morning stating that they’ve received my DVDs. It’s that quick and efficient.

It all comes down to the service you prefer. If you’re currently renting Blockbuster DVDs from the location in your area, then you may wish to give their online service a shot. If you’re not renting with any video stores I would suggest Netflix.com.

There Are Many Benefits Of Drinking Green Tea

Maintaining good health is a focus for most individuals. We’ve all heard the medical experts tell us to take better care of ourselves if we want to live a longer life. There’s so much conflicting information about what is and isn’t good for us. There does seem to be some consensus about the benefits of green tea. It’s a beverage that does a body good.

It’s certainly gained popularity in recent years because of the desire of so many people to try natural herbs and supplements to maintain good health. In fact, many people have chosen to substitute it for their morning cup of coffee. They recognize the benefits of green tea far outweigh those of a cup of java.

Caffeine is found in coffee and also in this type of tea. Therefore it’s wise to limit the number of cups you drink each day so it doesn’t make you feel nervous or jittery. Too much caffeine can also affect your sleep patterns so keeping your consumption of green tea limited to early in the day is a wise idea.

Losing weight is something that many people are trying to do. Each and everyday it seems we are bombarded with new and supposedly effective weight loss plans. One of the benefits of green tea is in fact weight loss. Many people not only drink the tea either hot or cold but they also take it in the form of a pill. If you do go this route you need to be careful about how much you drink as you don’t want to overdo it.

Antioxidants are proven to help prevent against some forms of cancer. Many believe that if you increase the amount of antioxidants in your diet you may reduce your risk of breast, lung and other forms of cancer. If this is indeed one of the benefits of green tea it’s certainly worthwhile to add a cup or two to your daily beverage menu.

As with many other types of herbal tea, it comes in different varieties. I’ve found that the ginseng and honey variety is refreshing along with the peppermint green tea. Knowing all the benefits of green tea it’s easy to see why it should be replacing regular tea as a staple in your diet. If you are going to drink tea each day why not make it green tea? Anything you can do to improve your health is well worth doing, especially if it means drinking a nice warm cup of tasty green tea.

Together Forever - Batman & Robin

Batman and Robin call up numerous associations — different ones for different people of different ages, genders and mindsets.  Batman and Robin that is, didn’t always inspire such sardonic satire as that of Saturday Night Live’s “Notoriously Gay Duo” animation or  such innocent hero worship as the Batman or Robin costume and mask that little kids still wear for Halloween 40 years after the original dynamic duo did their stunts on TV every night right before dinner.

For some the original Batman series is unparalleled for its colorful and clever and cutting-edge elements, its first-time ever used comic book “sounds” Bam! Zonk! Kapow!, its serialized nature, playing on the old radio shows, etc., its stellar star lineup.  My brother was riveted to the TV in those first years watching the great Julie Newmar and Eartha Kitt as Catwomen, Egghead, Mr. Freeze, and the Penguin try to out-wit the witty, out-do the duo.  I watched less faithfully but always, always stayed in the room for the Bookworm and the Riddler, my absolute favorites.  I was intrigued by the contraptions the Bookworm, Roddy McDowall, had for reading—despite how he also made time for crime.  I was fascinated by Frank Gorshin’s hideous hyena giggling, his derisive and mocking laughter, his adept activities, his green bodysuit with the question marks and of course, his clever yet felonious riddles.

For others the original Batman and Robin are irrelevant for the slew of Batman & Robin movies made in the last twenty years are all they know.  This isn’t disturbing to us original Batman fans, as the movies have sort of lived up to the concepts and costuming.  Sometimes going beyond our expectations with the futuristic Batman suits, for instance for Michael Keaton, or the Catwoman costume Michelle Pfeiffer fit like a feline should.  Though at the same time they never attempting to REPLACE the originals, thereby bringing their own creative interpretations that seem to have done justice.  Jim Carrey’s Riddler for example, was a stunning derivation for Riddler fanatics.

For still others the 19997 Batman & Robin will be memorable not only for Uma Thurman’s slinky and sexy Poison Ivy rendition but for the appearance of the Ice Man as he was played by California Governor, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the innocence or naiveté of a Robin played by Chris O’Donnell or the darkly deep of a Batman played by the ever-popular with women George Clooney.

I can’t speak to the spinoffs such as Catwoman starring Halle Berry but I can speak to the original which was finely balanced, cleverly cast, and, of course, dynamically written for kids, teens and adults alike.  A phenomenon that has not stopped with the TV series but has extended over four decades with movies, more comic books and much, much wonderful sought-after memorabilia.

Anyone Can Everything About You With A Background Search

One of my friends works as a civil liberties attorney. In my family he is always viewed as a bit of a nut. Most people think that he is a little bit paranoid, you see. It is hard to believe that the government is out to get us as he says they are. Nevertheless, I checked out some of his allegations and they seem to have some grounds to them. I was really worried when I found out about background searches.

Most people are familiar with criminal background checks. A background search is a way for a potential employer to find out if you have had any nefarious dealings in the past. There are not that many people who would really object to background searches either. Most of us feel that the public has a right to know, after all. If you have been involved in illegal activities, why should it be hidden from everyone?

What I did not realize was just how much information a background search reveals. It can reveal your credit history, your criminal history and even the places that you have lived . It just does not make any sense to me. The background search seems like a way to destroy a persons privacy. I can understand why someone should have the right to know if some criminal is living next door to them but I think there are limits. I do not think someone should have a right to know if I have been married before. They should not be able to know everywhere I have lived, how much money I make, or what I spend it on. They certainly should not be able to know my credit history! Yet a background search gives you the right to do all of these things.

Of course, the companies that make money off of background search will defend their right to do this in the name of free speech. I don’t think it really is about free speech, however. I think it is all about money. There is money to be made helping people snoop on each other. Some times a background search is done for a legitimate purpose. They are used by law enforcement, for example, or by potential employers. I would be willing to bet that the majority of them, however, are used by paranoid people to snoop on each other. I don’t think that this is right. I think that our country demands at least some right to privacy.

Your Business Cannot Do It Alone - B2B Advertising

Almost all of us are familiar with the term advertising. Some of us may even be involved in the field of advertising, either as practitioners or as clients. But there is nobody among us who does not know what advertising does or how it is useful in helping us make a decision. But how many of us know what B2B advertising means? How many of us are even aware of the term? Is it a new kind of advertising? Is B2B advertising a new trend in the advertising industry? Is B2B advertising the herald of things to come? Not really!

Simply put B2B advertising is nothing but business to business advertising. In the vast majority of advertising that most of us are familiar with, we see examples of B2C or business to consumer advertising. Businesses want to sell to consumers and hence use B2C advertising to achieve that aim. But what abut B2B advertising? As the name suggests, B2B advertising is nothing but advertising that a business uses to advertise its products or services to another business. But why would a business need to advertise to another business through a channel like B2B advertising? Think again and you will find the answer to that question!

Contrary to popular belief, no product is the produce of one business alone. Most products we use in our day to day lives are actually the coming together of the expertise of several businesses. Take the everyday automobile for instance. Let’s say you own a Ford car. Now while Ford Motors may have produced the finished product and sold it to you through a dealer, there are several other companies and businesses in the background that have put together your car. The steering wheel for instance could have been manufactured by one business. The seats and upholstery could have been manufactured by another business. Even the body of the car and the engine itself could have been manufactured by wholly different businesses. Ford Motors therefore is little more than a collating agency that brings together all the products manufactured by different businesses to produce an automobile that you buy and use.

This is where B2B advertising comes into the picture. Each individual business that manufactures different parts of the car uses B2B advertising to reach out to other businesses. Which is why Ford, Chevrolet and Chrysler could all have procured their steering wheels from a single manufacturer! And how do these businesses use B2B advertising? Through what has come to be known as strategic publications. You will rarely find B2B advertising in the mainstream newspapers. That is almost exclusively reserved for B2C advertising. But in strategic publications, which are publications specific to one particular industry, B2B advertising is the mainstay. Unlike in the mainstream advertising channels like newspapers, magazines, television and the Internet, strategic publications almost never publish B2C advertising! They are dedicated to publishing B2B advertising, which has grown into a billion dollar industry. And the biggest and the best of the agencies too have B2B advertising divisions to cater to this part of the revenue.

A Very Powerful Business Tool - The Answering Machine

Nowadays whenever you call a friend or acquaintance and they are not available at home, chances are you will speak to their answering machine. Most of us have grown pretty used to leaving messages on the answering machines. In fact the telephone industry estimates that nearly one in every three calls in the United States of America is answered not by a person- but by an answering machine! And if you consider that billions of calls are made and received on a monthly basis in the United States alone, the percentage of calls being answered by an answering machine will prove to be staggering!

But how exactly did the answering machine come about in the first place? In the days of the fixed landline, it was imperative that one stay near the phone at all times of the day in order to be able to answer it. Failing to do so would mean that a call would never be received, and one would not even be aware of the fact unless the calling party called again. Since this was not only impractical but expensive as well, the phone companies decided to introduce a service called an answering machine. Initially, an answering machine was an attachment that you could add to your phone to ensure that your calls would be answered and messages taken even if you weren’t there to do so yourself. Their success in helping to do this made answering machines really popular indeed. People now no longer needed to be around their phones at all times. An answering machine would do the trick for them. Some people also began using answering machines to filter out unwanted callers and to choose which calls to take. Which only succeeded in broadening the appeal of answering machines.

With the advent of cellular and mobile phones it was expected that the need for answering machines would die out. After all a mobile phone is meant to be with you at all times and you would surely answer the phone right? Not exactly. There are times and occasions like when you are in a meeting or otherwise occupied or unable to answer the phone because it is not on your person. And thus the answering machine becomes critical one more. Which is why almost all mobile phone service providers offer an answering machine option in their service plans. The only thing is that it I not called an answering machine service anymore. It goes by the name of voicemail but truth be told, it is the good old answering machine in a new guise.

Personally, I don’t think the answering machines that we know and some of us cherish, will ever go away completely. Even businesses which have always been seeking ways and means to cut costs, have developed advanced answering machines that can not only answer calls and take messages but can also guide the caller through an interactive program to take their call to the right destination. Most service desk telephone numbers of large multi national corporations have these sorts of answering machines in place. And with the advances in voice recognition technology and data processing capabilities, the humble answering machine of yore is now a powerful business tool that one can use to ensure that no call is ever missed.
