We all want to become healthier, happier, fitter and more spiritual people. This is, after all, the 21st century and I think I can safely say that the practitioners of yoga are on the forefront of leading the new spiritual revolution. However, do you really want to be spiritual at the expense of being cute? It’s all right to try to be Buddha but do we really want to look like him? Do you really want to learn yoga without having the chance to wear cute yoga clothes?
For me, you cannot be spiritual without being fashionable at the same time. I know for many people this will sound like a contradiction but to me it is not a contradiction at all. After all, the level of spiritual knowledge that you possess will show through in your interactions with other people. If you do not wear clothing that flatters you and makes you seem accessible and appealing, you will not be able to share your spiritual experiences as readily. And anyway, what is a better place for cruising for the young, attractive and sensitive man or woman than yoga classes? When I wear my yoga outfit, I am making sure that my inner state of bliss finds its counterpart in the experience of anyone who is looking at me. In other words, my yoga clothes make me look hot.
One of the best ways to find good yoga clothes is in a specialty store, but this is far from the only place. Really, almost anything used for sports can be yoga clothes. There are certain styles that are popular and it makes sense to stay as close to those styles as possible but there’s still room to experiment. Any store that sells exercise clothing will be an invaluable source. For example, you can use warm-up pants as yoga pants. That high tech, synthetic shirt that you use for camping? It might just make the perfect yoga shirt. As long as you have a keen eye for fashion and a practical sense of what is required for yoga, you will have no trouble at all making interesting and innovative outfits.
Of course, when selecting yoga clothes, you should keep in mind that there is no need to sacrifice comfort for fashion. On the contrary, if you wear clothes that appear to be uncomfortable, they will also be unfashionable. Good yoga clothes can do it all. They can flatter your figure, give you plenty of room to move around and comfort you with their softness and malleability.

I had never been into a western store until I went to Nashville, Tennessee. I guess these are pretty common there and they do really good business. Most of their business is probably tourist related but I am sure there are many locals who shop there as well. I come from a rural area but I had never seen such a place in all of my life. It seemed that there were at least two hundred different types of cowboy hat and I apparently did not fit in very well.
A group of my friends and I went to Nashville to see someone in a concert. He was not a country singer but he did do some songs in the genre. We all went to see him and spent the time before and after the shows walking around and exploring a city I never thought I would visit. There seemed to be a western store everywhere we looked and many of them were near Broadway. We went into a few of them and thought we might buy a hat to wear while we were in the city. I guess we wanted to play stupid tourist for a while.
I remember when we walked into the first country western store. We must have looked really out of place because the girl behind the counter seemed to be at a loss for words. I have to say that we are not a glamorous lot, so I don’t know what they confusion must have been. It wasn’t like Madonna just walked into her store. We looked like everyone else we saw but for some reason our entrance into that western store was something to be noted.
I walked around the store and tried on quite a few hats but the price was too much for something I would never wear again. It was hat sticker shock. Though most of us found nothing we wanted in the western store, one of my friends did buy a few things. The rest of us spent a lot of time trying things on and giggling. It was a great store but I had never seen anything like that in my life. Considering the fact that the store was very close to the Country Music Hall of Fame, you would think the girl in the store would be use to tourists. Perhaps it was her first day. I’ll go with that.

My daughter was always into the Wiggles. Don’t get me wrong, she still is but one day she got a gift that totally shocked me. She loved it and I had no idea she would like it so much. A friend gave her a Thomas the Engine set she had bought at a huge discount and my daughter was the proud recipient. She fell in love with Thomas immediately. She even took Thomas to her last Wiggle’s concert, so I guess she’s found room to love both at the same time.
This Thomas the Engine set she got came with a three-piece train, a small round track with a bridge and a few accessories. What surprised me the most about her receiving this Thomas the Engine was that she played with it for hours and I didn’t hear a peep out of her. It was so quiet I had to go see what was going on. It was very unusual, as any parent of a young child might tell you. She fell in love with Thomas the Engine that day and has not looked back.
Since that day, she has gotten other forms of Thomas the Engine as gifts. She has an electric one that runs on a plastic track and she has gotten different engines was well. Though she has a few engines to choose from now, Thomas the Engine remains her favorite and goes everywhere she goes. She may not play with him when we are out but she keeps him in the bottom of her bag, just in case. Though there are times he never sees the light of day, he has been introduced to one of the Wiggles by my daughter.
You can find Thomas the Engine in a lot of places, though what you will pay for him will vary. I know the set my daughter first got was on discount but retailed for quite a bit of money. However, the set was made of wood and has turned out to be very durable. The electric version to Thomas the Engine was not nearly as expensive but it tends to have more problems and the batteries tend to die rather quickly. Your child will enjoy it no matter what version you buy and if you really want to save some money, check out yard sales nearby or look on eBay to see if you can get a good deal.

The sun sure is getting bright, isn’t it? For the longest time I heard that the ozone layer way to blame for the summers getting hotter and the tans getting more severe. Since we are constantly damaging it with our chemicals and spray cans it’s sadly dwindling away, hence leaving us with less protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays. But now I’m hearing more and more stories about hurricane Nino and tropical air flow. This is the new reason winters are shorter and the sun seems hotter. Yeah, whatever! Either way, we certainly have to start protecting our bodies from the sun. Too much exposure to UV rays can obviously lead to cancer. Possibly even spontaneous combustion. Okay, scratch that second one. Anyway, get out the sun screen. You’re going to need it this summer.
Are people slapping on SPF 35 sun screen or more of that 1985 Tropicana dark suntan oil? I have to wonder. Last summer my teenage daughter came to me for sun tan lotion. I replied with “Don’t you mean sun screen?” She made a weird face and said “I want to get tan, not more pale.” Before I knew it, she was laying out back with baby oil all over her body and a bikini on. OUCH. She might as well climb in the microwave. Rubbing your body down with baby oil will certainly draw in the sun and make you sizzle. Not exactly the key to youth. But hey, if you want dried out, prematurely aged skin then go for it. Toss in a few sun spots and skin cancer moles and you’re set. In this day and age, sun-bathing simply makes no sense. We know for a fact now that it does plenty of harm and no good. It may provide you with a golden tan but sun screen with keep you healthy and young looking. I guess it comes down to which one you crave more.
Try the safe tan. Hit up the local tanning salons that offer mist-on tanning. This is the new craze and it seems to be doing well. As for the sandy beaches, take along a decent sun screen. Preferably one with SPF 35. Above this is too much. After a few hours you’ll need to reapply your sun screen either way. If you’re not sure how it works, let me fill you in. Let’s say you can stay in the sun for 15 minutes before you begin to burn. Sun block with SPF 35 will allow you to stay in the sun 35 times that long. However, it can wear and sweat off.

If you are a fan of Seinfeld, you probably saw the episode about the shower heads. Though it was hysterically funny it was also very true. If you have a bad head in your shower, you are going to know it. Water pressure is important and if you don’t get enough, you aren’t going to be able to properly rinse all of the soap from your skin or the shampoo and conditioner out of your hair. This not only leaves your hair limp and lifeless, it also leaves your skin feeling very itchy. You may not even feel totally clean when you come out of the shower no matter how long you have been in there.
I have moved a lot so I have experienced all sorts of shower heads. The one I have now is OK, but I think I might replace it with something stronger. It works just fine but it takes too long to get everything rinsed out. One of the best shower heads I had was when I was in college. Our school apartments had amazing showers and the pressure was just right. I was tempted to take the head with me when I moved but I decided it just wasn’t worth the money they would have taken out of my security deposit.
I have had good shower heads and really bad ones. You just can’t enjoy a shower if the pressure is next to nothing. One of the worst ones I encountered was thankfully not in my home. I stayed with a friend for a few nights on a trip and she had hands down the worst water pressure I have ever encountered. The water was nothing more than a dribble and I could not get the shampoo out of my hair, even though I used very little for just that reason. My daughter had gotten sand in her hair and I couldn’t get that out either.
You may find the best shower heads in hotels. These are always great, as long as you aren’t in a cheap place. If you like the head, make note of what it looks like and what company makes it. You may be able to find those shower heads in your local home improvement store, or you may be able to order it online. This will take most of the guesswork out of finding the perfect shower heads for your home.

I never thought that there would be much reason to use a reverse phone number search. After all, if I have a person’s number then I pretty much know who he is, right? There are times when this service comes in really handy. Following are a couple scenarios in which a reverse phone number search is helpful.
Many people take their telephone digits along with them when they move to a new location. This is a wonderful convenience for anyone who has to make a big move. Now you don’t have to worry about changing your number in most cases. In addition, anyone who needs to find you can just conduct a reverse phone number search to find your new address.
Many of us forget to send moving announcements to friends and family during this hectic time in our lives. Moving is never easy and remembering every detail is nearly impossible. The reverse phone number search has helped my family and my friends find my new address in seconds. I didn’t have to remember to send moving announcements after all. I have also used this number look up device on my computer to update my address book. There are plenty of friends and family members who have moved or who have addresses that I simply forgot over the years. I just entered their last known telephone number in the reverse phone number search and up popped the information that I needed.
This service came in really handy when I was preparing for my wedding. I already had telephone information but in this age of emails I really didn’t have addresses. Using the reverse phone number search has proved to be a quick and efficient way to get addresses in a snap.
There are other reasons that you might want to use a reverse phone number search. I recently received a message on my answering machine that was meant for another person. Unfortunately, the person speaking just called herself “Grandma”. This didn’t help me in returning her telephone call to explain that she had the wrong number.
My caller ID only had the number listed on the list of incoming calls. I had no idea what to say when calling this lady. I decided to conduct a reverse phone number search and I found the information that I needed. This made the call much easier for me to make considering that I had a good salutation to begin the conversation. There may be other instances that a reverse phone number search will prove to be helpful. It’s nice to know that this kind of convenient service is available.

The Windows Recycle Bin has always been sitting on the desktop of your Microsoft Windows machine but how much do you know about it? Generally the recycle bin is a place where your deleted files are temporarily stored. When you delete a file in Windows, it isn’t permanently deleted. Rather, it is only transferred to the recycle bin. There, it sits and waits for you to delete it permanently. The recycle bin is actually based on the concept of the Trash Can introduced in the first Macintosh operating systems. Both operating systems have used the idea basically since their launches, realizing that often times people delete files they don’t mean to. The recycle bin allows these accidentally deleted files to be restored quickly and easily. To do so, open up your recycle bin and right-click any files which you accidentally deleted. Then choose “Restore” from the pop-up menu, and the files will be restored to wherever your originally deleted them from.
Since your files will sit in the recycle bin until you permanently delete them, it’s a good idea to clean out your recycle bin every once in awhile, much like taking out your garbage. When you throw something in your garbage at home it doesn’t permanently disappear, you can fetch it out again if you really need it. However, if you don’t take out the garbage eventually it piles up and becomes a bother. It works the same way in your computer. If you never purge your recycle bin it begins to use up a lot of memory that would be better utilized with other programs. So, when you get around to spring cleaning, right-click your recycle bin on your desktop and choose the option “Empty Recycle Bin.” This will permanently delete all of the items in the recycle bin, so be sure you don’t need any of them beforehand.
You can also rename your recycle bin if you’re not happy with the name “Recycle Bin.” If you’re using Windows XP it’s easy, just right click the recycle bin icon and choose “Exploreer.” Then highlight “Recycle Bin” and click “File,” then “Rename.” Then the plain-Jane “Recycle Bin” can become “John’s Big Trash Heap” or “Jill’s Burning Refuse Pile,” or whatever else suits your mood.
It should be noted that items “permanently” deleted when you empty your recycle bin are not, in fact gone for good. A few different techniques and programs can recover these files for awhile but eventually the hard disk space used to store them is overwritten by another file or program and they’re gone forever.

Most people will probably not admit this but there are few things uglier than a newborn baby. As a photographer I am constantly surprised by the number of requests I get for photo birth announcements. You would think that baby boy birth announcements that can be bought in the store with the standard cliché pictures of doves would do well enough, but people want something more personalized. I would say that I do a customized photo birth announcement almost every month. Some months, I am even called upon to do two or three. I serve a small area so the number of people doing photo birth announcements nationwide must be truly stunning!
I guess it is no wonder that people call upon photographers to do their birth announcement photo cards. It really takes a lot of art to make a little baby not look hideous, especially in a small photo. Don’t get me wrong, I love babies. I even have that animation of the talking baby up on my computer as the desktop picture. I just don’t think they are particularly attractive.
I am sure that people will look at the photo birth announcements that I send out and “ooh” and “aah”, but that is because people are attached to newborn babies. They are not seeing the baby’s picture, they are seeing the fact that it is a baby. By doing my best to make the photo birth announcements not too hideous, I try to help people enjoy the idea of a baby without being too aware of the reality of it.
Then again the photo birth announcements are a cash gold mine for any photographer. If you make a new couple happy with their photo birth announcements, you have their son or daughter for life. You will be able to do his school pictures, his graduation photos, his wedding photography – you name it, you will probably be in line for the gig.
That is why it is so important to provide good photo birth announcements. You need to be able to see like the parents so that you can please their eye. They don’t know that their baby is awful looking, after all. They think that their baby is actually beautiful. It is your job not to tell them the truth. It is your job to dress up the photo birth announcements so that they actually look nice. Then, they are yours for life.

Reading about celebrities is a pastime that many of us have. Women love looking at images of starlets and reading about who is doing what with whom. Men can also be caught leafing through these magazines checking out the articles or so they say. One publication that appeals to both sexes is People and you can actually save a substantial amount of money if you purchase a People magazine subscription as opposed to buying it at the newsstand.
Most of us don’t even consider the idea of paying ahead to have a magazine delivered to our home or office each week or month. We’d rather pick it up while waiting in line at the grocery store than arrange for prepayment. A People magazine subscription can actually save you more than half the price you’d pay otherwise.
You can always go straight to the source when you want to sign up for home delivery service. The magazine itself will normally have an insert that you can send in for a People magazine subscription. This is generally the way people find information regarding having People delivered straight to their homes.
There are other resources for finding subscriptions to this very popular magazine. Some companies focus on offering discounts on hundreds of different publications. They may even offer you a free gift with your People magazine subscription. If you do decide to use one of these companies, ensure that they have been in business for several years and have a proven track record of delivering what they promise. You’d hate to pay for a subscription only to find it was to a bogus company.
If you truly adore reading about what the stars are up to consider buying the magazine for even longer than a year. A two or three year People magazine subscription will be even less expensive than a one year term would be. If you know that you will still be reading the magazine two years from now this is the best deal there is.
Some people have found it more economical to share the magazine with someone else. Both people pay have the cost of the subscription and then take turns reading it. This approach lets you read People for even less money.
It makes a great gift too. Many people struggle to find a birthday or holiday gift for the person they think has everything. Giving them a People magazine subscription will let them read up on everything Hollywood and with any luck you’ll be able to take a peek at the magazine when you drop by for a visit.

The first time I saw online greeting cards I thought they were the coolest things ever. Surely no one can top that! Of course that was silly, as there are a million amazing things to be found on the Internet today and it just keeps getting better. I’m of the generation that lived without the Internet and then discovered it as it appeared. You might call that a line in history because the Internet has become so important for so many reasons. One of the biggest things I love about the Internet is the ability to make friends all over the world.
I was never good about buying cards for people when there was a birthday or celebration coming up. I’m not sure why, it is just something that seemed to always slip my mind, even when I was staring at them in the store. Online greeting cards have made it easier for a slacker like me to keep on top of things when I have forgotten to buy a paper card. They are instant and you never have to worry about an online greeting card getting lost in the mail.
You can find online greeting cards for every occasion you can imagine and many for occasions you could have never dreamed up on your own. I get an email once a week from one place where I go to send a lot of online greeting cards and there seems to be a special occasion every day of the year. It’s amazing what people can come up with, don’t you think? If you can dream it up, there is probably already a card out there for it. Best of all there are cards to fit every personality, lifestyle and interest. The sky is the limit.
I don’t use online greeting cards for most of those silly days but once in a while I see a card that I just can’t pass up. There is always a friend out there who may need a pick me up, and a silly online greeting card may be just what they need to put a smile on their face. Don’t forget to let those you love know how much you mean to them and never let an opportunity to say hello pass you by. You never know when you won’t have the chance again. Online greeting cards make it easier than ever to do just that.
